self portraits help wellbeing

We’ve been working with Caldmore Area Housing Association again to help animate their contribution to a Walsall Wellbeing Day. Main events were happening in the Square and at the New Art Gallery where Caldmore wanted something live and community oriented in the entrance lobby. So Timm and Emma-Jo took the Self Portrait equipment over there and set up shop.
Brian was there too and says, “It was challenging from the point of view of the space available but also very exciting as anyone coming in or out of the gallery had to pass the Self Portrait event. And most of them got involved. Some two thousand images were taken including one of a finalist from The Apprentice and one of the Cannock Town Cryer!”
Ioannis Ioannou the Audience Development Curator at the New Art Gallery was delighted with Caldmore’s contribution, calling it, “One of the highlights of the event.” In fact, as you can see from the images, we were all delighted and had a really good day. We are now working with Caldmore Housing, the Accord Group and the New Art Gallery, Walsall to develop further projects.
