An objective and action planning approach to help you
research
Qualitative research and opinion surveys look closely at people's views and opinions. At Homer Education, we draw constructive conclusions from our findings, which are then presented in a detailed Report:
- We uncover what clients and stakeholders really think - not what people think schools want to hear
- We ask what people think is done well - and then plan what needs development or improvement
- Our Reports present the views of each respondent group separately - teachers, pupils, parents, head teachers and other senior staff, feeder school heads, governors and so on.
"Homer Creative have a great deal of experience in working with schools and displayed a deep understanding of the issues which we face in education. Their work was fully focussed upon the needs of the school and its development rather than offering a pre-designated package of measures. This was of great support to us in aspects of turning round a challenging school."

constructive improvements
Making the most of our Report involves several key processes:
- De-briefing the school's senior leadership team to identify the Report's most important messages
- Responding objectively to reactions from reading the Report's findings - which can sometimes be quite strong
- Channeling all responses into a constructive mindset which then leads to action planning i.e. focusing on key messages and incorporating them into improvement plans.
student voice
We also use carefully designed questionnaires in our pupil voice work. We do not apply generic questionnaires but customise them to the context in each school or college. In our survey work we have spoken to many pupils at a range of schools from primary to secondary and through to six formers. With Student Voice firmly on the agenda, we believe that our independent approach is more valuable then ever in gathering what students really think.
