Homer Creative has had a long and fruitful relationship with Tindal Street Press. Using our photographic, illustrative and design skills and committed to this Birmingham-based, independent publisher, we've designed over the years book covers, catalogues and an update of their brand identity.

Senior designer Sue Race has designed several of their biggest successes including their highly successful Man Booker shortlisted Astonishing Splashes of Colour, where she allowed her artist out and painted what the book suggested first, then scanned and sampled the images in order to reuse as graphic design elements.

Tindal also asked her to design the cover for Girl in a Blue Dress. They wanted her "artistic flair, strong design eye and typographical skills," as Alan Mahar, Tindal Street's Publishing Director, puts it. Adding, "Her classy style has enhanced two of our Man Booker Prize successes."

This one will give you a flavour of our approach. Set in mid-Victorian England it is the story of Alfred and Dorothea Gibson and based on the real life relationship between Charles Dickens and his wife.
